Legal Information and Description

Fire Trucks 4 Hire ("FT4H") operates as a referral service for the general public and others seeking the services of fire truck apparatus or other equipment for a variety of events. (The listing of events and services provided vary by each Station, and can be found on the Events & Pricing page.) FT4H is an entity of Wicktonville Fire Department, Inc., a California corporation.

FT4H does not own any tangible assets -- it operates as a dispatching service only, connecting customers seeking fire apparatus-related services with Station representatives in that customer's local area. FT4H also provides administrative support (web site design and update services, marketing materials order management, etc.) to our Station members.

FT4H is a member-benefit group. As such, each station is managed by individual owner-operators, independently licensing and insuring themselves with the state, county, and local government agencies, as applicable to their home location. Each station Manager is required to a be a Station in good standing with FT4H before customer inquiries are routed to them, and once an inquiry is routed, the Station Manager typically is the customer's primary contact for coordinating the event through completion. Should a Station leave the FT4H group, or is no longer in good standing, a customer with a future event may be contacted to ensure their event receives the originally scheduled services.

Station Managers are responsible for their conduct and behavior, and are expected to convey a professional image, both during and outside of FT4H events. All Station Managers are screened, including being checked through the State's public "Megan's Law" web site . (If you require information about the Station manager -- or any crew members -- attending your event, you may contact either the Station Manager or the main FT4H dispatcher for details of the Station staff who will be at your location during your scheduled event.)

FT4H and its Members have written guidelines for what activities, requests, and behaviors are generally acceptable, keeping in line with safe operations. It should be understood that all fire apparatus, and firefighting equipment generally, have some inherent risk with activities involving fire vehicles and gear, including, but not limited to, slips and falls from the trucks or while wearing equipment, bumps and bruises (resulting from slips, falls, bumping into equipment, loose items on the ground, or other participants), tripping while wearing the firefighting helmets, coats or equipment, slips in liquids that may drip from or be discharged during an event or equipment (water, vehicle fluids, etc.), running around or near the equipment, horseplay, the actions of other guests or participants, etc.

FT4H does not oversee events or activities -- this is the shared responsibility of the Station staff to whom the event has been dispatched to for completion and the event organizers hiring the Station to appear with fire apparatus. Each Station Manager is responsible for reasonably ensuring the safety and comfort of those participating to the best of their ability, however, parents, guardians and event sponsors have an equal and shared responsibility toward supervising their children, guests, attendees, and others in their care.
