| July 21, 2010 | Fire Engine Show 'n Tell (Category: Fairs & Festivals) |
| Click here to View | Truth be told, we did more show than tell, but no question asked went unanswered. When the children -- and their parents -- weren't asking questions, they busied themselves exploring the engine, its cab and crew area, the gear, and took turns in each of the area during our visit. (The event was organized by, and a part of, the city's Literacy Jamboree hosted by Union City's Leisure Services team.)... |

| Click here to View | We were again invited to visit our friends at the Oakland school to have a quick chat about fire engines, fire safety and using 9-1-1. Once the questions were exhausted, it was time to take an up close look at the engine and have a sit in the engineer's (driver's) seat!... |

| Click here to View | With the theme set -- fire engines -- it came down to what to add to the mix to make it complete: yup, a real fire engine! We rolled up in Livermore Engine 3 and threw open the doors and a bunch of gear to wear and play with, a bit of hose, and two equally long bits of rope for our twin birthday boys (no sharing required!).... |

| July 7, 2010 | Fire Sprinkler Flow Test (Category: Business Services) |
| Click here to View | The need to flow test the structure for its five-year inspection meant a pumper engine had to be brought in, and we were happy to help complete the job -- quick, simple, and successful in meeting (and exceeding) the needed 100 gallons per minute and 150 psi at the connection (which reached nearly 100 psi at the test end). ... |

| July 1, 2010 | Matteu's Birthday (Category: Birthdays) |
| Click here to View | Matteu had the chance to celebrate his birthday with the other in his day care class, must to the surprise of one and all -- including our birthday boy. He and the others had a chance to check out the truck's cab, the helmets, play with the hose and nozzle, and as the other children moved to the next item on the day's activities, Matteu had a chance to spray water out of a few of the fire extinguishers. (Due to privacy concerns given the venue, we are unable to share any photos.)... |

| June 30, 2010 | Day Camp Visit (Category: Safety Demos) |
| Click here to View | While few of us over the age of 12 would consider a 33-year-old fire engine "old fashioned," we were able to visit with a local day camp during the week of that theme and share our "oldie" fire engine. Three waves of eager campers had a chance to hear a bit about the engine and its history before climbing aboard to explore the cab and interior, the gear and equipment, and ask *all sorts* of questions.... |

|
| June 19, 2010 | Christian's Birthday (Category: Birthdays) |
| Click here to View | When the party plans call for a theme, we suggest fire trucks, of course -- call it a bias. When Christian's parents had selected such a theme for his birthday celebration, they got themselves an entire park for the event, and only needed the fire engine. We brought that, and a good amount of water to share as well.... |

| June 12, 2010 | Trey's Birthday (Category: Birthdays) |
| Click here to View | When we compete with temps into the high 80s and low 90s, it's a tough sell to get the kids out of the air-conditioning and outside into a toasty fire truck -- but we were able to convince more than a few of the brave souls to visit with us before heading back in to hydrate... and come back outside for more!... |

| Click here to View | The arrival of the fire truck was the icing on the cake, as it were, to a fire themed birthday for Max and his playmates. It wasn't too long before those playing on and with the truck weren't limited to those under the age of 10, either...... |

| June 5, 2010 | Logan's Birthday (Category: Birthdays) |
| Click here to View | With the theme set, invitations sent and fire engine balloons arranged, the only thing left to do was bring in a fire truck. Logan's parents made that a simple task -- they called us. We brought out Livermore's Quint 59 to provide something for Logan and his friends and family to explore and climb through on this toasty Saturday morning.... |

| June 5, 2010 | Fire Sprinkler Flow Test (Category: Business Services) |
| Click here to View | During work to a fire sprinkler system, we were asked to be on-site to both assist in pressurizing the system, as well as ensuring there was adequate pressure to other water systems during the test. A bit of a long day, but all tests passed with flying colors before the sun went down again.... |

| June 5, 2010 | Gale Ranch Family Dental Event (Category: Advertising) |
| Click here to View | If you need to pull in a crowd, do a bit of advertising. If you need to beef up the crowd walking by, give them something to come look at out of curiosity. To throw a really successful event, do a bit of both -- and that's how Gale Ranch Family Dental in San Ramon chose to use our Engine 2 for the day!... |

|
| June 5, 2010 | Errol's Birthday (Category: Birthdays) |
| Click here to View | Though all the details were worked out, as a "Would't it be cool if...?" thought struck to see if a fire truck could join Errol's birthday party. We can do just that (certainly it's a very cool idea), and we arrived to share Livermore's Quint 59 with Errol and his guests as they celebrated his birthday.... |

| May 23, 2010 | Max's Birthday (Category: Birthdays) |
| Click here to View | We knew we were in the right place when we arrived to find Max and his guests all decked out in fire helmets and red safety vests. It took little convincing to coax the eager little ones (and many of their parents) to climb on, in, and through the engine, try on the gear, and begin tugging at the bell (and virtually anything else they could find for their enjoyment).... |

| May 8, 2010 | Aidan's Birthday (Category: Birthdays) |
| Click here to View | Rare are the times when we arrive in a fire engine, and the birthday boy isn't in awe of the truck, its size and all the gear. Nope, not Aidan. He wanted to know where the water was, how to get the water out, and when we were going to play with the water. So we did. We opened up with the big hose and nozzle, and after we ran out of water there, we dialed back to the extinguishers to do some target practice of knocking a ball off the orange cone... with more water.... |
